Today, we’re shining the Safety First Spotlight on Minerva Garza, Detroit Market Manager and Trust Ambassador for Heart of the House.
Minerva was nominated by Regional Director, Raquel Castrillon, for leading our Detroit Housekeeping and Laundry Solutions Teams, and for her ongoing commitment to safety in the hospitality industry.
How long have you worked for Heart of the House?
I joined the Heart of the House team back in February of 2018. Honestly, it doesn’t even feel like its been that long.
What is your favorite thing about working at Heart of the House?
My favorite thing about working with Heart of the House is the relationships and partnerships we build.
What do you love most about supporting the hospitality industry?
What I love the most is knowing that we are assisting associates. Helping them get placed serves a bigger purpose in the scheme of things. They count on us to provide for their families. Knowing that they trust us with such a big responsibility is truly an honor.
How are you helping our hospitality associates and clients?
We help our associates in many ways, from being available when an issue arises to simply listening and connecting with them so they feel seen. Sometimes all it takes to solidify trust is them knowing they are important to us and that they matter. As for our partners, this is no different. They seek us out because they need our assistance. We help alleviate tough times for them and they know they can trust us—and that’s what matters most.
How are you working with hotel management to ensure safety for staff and guests?
I am in constant communication with management to ensure that safety for all is being applied and/or trained as the guidelines change. The safety of our associates is very important. We provide the proper PPE equipment needed and, more often than not, the properties have exactly what the associates will need as well..
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
I’d like to add that working for Heart of the House has been a true blessing. It has allowed me to grow professionally and personally. I look forward to many more years with Heart of the House!
