This year, Heart of the House Market Manager, Jonathan Perez, and Anee McVey, Director of Services for the JW Marriott Indianapolis, nominated one our stand-out associates, Evelyn Lig.
Evelyn wears many hats at the hotel. One moment, she is assigning rooms to the housekeeping room attendants, the next she is coordinating special deliveries for guests. While she performs these tasks, and more, with precision, it’s caring and compassion that earned her a Rose Award nomination.
Anne McVey, Director of Services for the JW Marriott Indianapolis explains, “Evelyn treats each associate as if they are her guest. This goes beyond just helping them get a new iron up to a room—she assists our associates in so many things outside of the four walls of the JW. She helps translate for assistance with making a needed appointment, helping coordinate communication between school and our associates, listening and empathizing when our associates go to her with challenges they are facing—Evelyn is never too busy, she always makes time to help our associates.”
Besides keeping the JW’s team of housekeepers happy, Evelyn goes above and beyond for guests, “Daily, she speaks with guests to see how she can enhance their stay—whether it’s extra coffee in the room or ensuring a crib for an arriving mini-guest, Evelyn makes sure our guests’ preferences are being met,” McVey says proudly.
